Do you remember where you were when Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Darius Kasparaitis rocked Philadelphia Flyers center Eric Lindros and ruined one of Philly's brightest stars?
I was watching the game at a local chicken wing joint.
Lindros was mush.

YouTube Video of the Day: 1988 Super Bowl
Because I am regularly tortured (as a Cincinnati Bengals fan) by ESPN and FOX Sports with pro-49ers footage of Super Bowl XXIII, I decided to look up one of the good parts of that legendary game.
I would have to say that Stanford Jennings' kickoff return is one of my favorite memories of my childhood. In fact, I will be posting YouTube videos of some of my other favorite childhood sports moments in the next few days.
Anyway, when Jennings ran back that kick, I was sure the Bengals were going to win the Super Bowl. They didn't. I cried. I was 11.

While Great American Ballpark, home of the Cincinnati Reds, is less than a decade old, it has already received a scoreboard upgrade.
Daktronics has installed a 138' x 39' high definition (HD) scoreboard into the home of the Reds for the 2009 season, which begins today at 1:10 p.m.

Sheffield to Reds?

The Cincinnati Reds are contemplating an offer for free agent outfielder Gary Sheffield, who was released earlier this week by the Detroit Tigers.
Sheffield, while more of a proven commodity than any of Cincinnati's left field options, is 40 years old and his skills are diminished. He was hitting .178 this spring at the time of his release.
TMD's take: Once again the Cincinnati Reds are pondering a move that would have made sense five years ago. That's when Gary Sheffield was still relevant. They should save their money and give one of their current players (Dickerson, Gomes) the chance to play every day.

Trade Alert: Jay Cutler to Chicago Bears

In a HUGE move the Chicago Bears have acquired quarterback Jay Cutler from the Denver Broncos.
ESPN.com reports that the Bears gave up quarterback Kyle Orton and first-round picks in both the 2009 and 2010 drafts to get Cutler.
TMD's take: While Jay Cutler is a quality quarterback, the Broncos weren't going anywhere anytime soon. The Bears should now be a force to be reckoned with in the NFC.
